Product testing is carried out for the following purposes:
➔ determining the characteristics of a product sample necessary to confirm its conformity with the requirements specified in technical regulations and standards;
➔ if testing is a procedure within the framework of conformity assessment, ensure that conformity assessment is carried out.

Testing is a procedure within the framework of conformity assessment if it is provided for by the conformity assessment scheme applied in certification or declaration of conformity. Testing constitutes an independent form of conformity assessment if this is provided for by technical regulations.
Testing shall be carried out by a laboratory accredited for the relevant scope of accreditation, if this is provided for by the conformity assessment scheme applied during certification or declaration of conformity.
During mandatory certification, product testing and measurements are carried out by accredited testing laboratories, and the results are documented in the form of test reports.
